I've got a job to flag a path across the front of a double fronted property using Pavestone "Kadapha" natural stone. No problem!

Next, I've been asked to tarmac the drive, the base course is done, it's only the surface course that needs laying. The problem is they want the driveway edged using the "kadaoha" natural stone. To my mind its a bit thin to use as an edge course, will it bond to the mass concrete or will it be scrubbed off by tyres, vehicles, frost etc? Has anyone got anysuggestions?

sorry m8 ,haven't come across the stone you mention and dont do tarmacking,if there are vehicles running close by i would bed it onto 150 mm of concrete my self, and maybe use a bond-bridge as detailed elsewhere

How do they plan to use the Kadapha limestone? On edge like a normal edging kerb, or laid flat in narrow strips, like a mowing strip?

Last time i seen Kadapha flags they were huge things. Can you not cut strips from it to act as edging

Yep your right that are huge things, so yes I'll cut strips and lay them flat on a bed of concrete and hopefully that will be it, job done???

Lay it on at least 100mm of concrete and give serious consideration to using a bond bridge to ensure it stays put when you're laying the blacktop.

Also, keep the roller off them!
