Hi to everyone & congratulations to Tony for his online masterpiece!
My first topic to start the ball rolling regards redoing an arris rail fence. Although the fence is sound, the previous owner shortened it's entire length including posts (with a jigsaw!). All but two of the old posts have short concrete spurs with the old posts bolted to these. Would it be common practice to rebolt the new posts to these spurs with the post at ground level, or should the post be 2ft in the ground for added strength? The spurs seem sound enough. Also would anyone have any general tips?
