Any ideas off the best way to put 10 metres of gravel boards or timber under a hedge, the troube is, i was going to dig next to the side were the pavement meets the garden, but in frount of the pavement is pavers, Ive smashed some out to place a 2x2 timber for the gravel boards, but some have loads of concrete in between the paver and pavement, and on top of all this is a beach hedge, and the roots are next to the pavers to. and its hard to get a good swing to crack the pavers out, any ideas, its only to stop rubbish blowing in the garden.
thank you

Ps, The ground is about a 300 mill lower then were pavement is, so i was going to concrete them in, rarther then just drive in the soil. If they rest againest the concrete can i concrete it in, without digging down as there is loads of roots, ie just put concrete round the 2x2 up againest the pavement edge.
hope its not too confussing

It's beyond confusing - it's downright enigmatic! :;):
Any chance of a piccie? I can't follow this description --- there's a pavement, which I assume is a footpath, then there's pavers, size and type unspecified, followed by a 300mm drop to the garden which incorporates a Beech hedge, and somewhere into this asemblage, you need to get a gravel board-like consturction to keep out the litter - is that right?

Ah yes, I've read it a few times and all has become clear :;):
If digging through the concrete is a problem, you could mound some concrete around the base of the 2x2" posts, its not as if it's gonna be affected by wind or owt.
It's best if it doesn't show through yer beech hedge though.(better than rubbish though i spose)
Is that any help? James
