Having a look through your site there`s a lot of info re paving etc but I couldnt find anything re walls (maybe i didn`t look in the right place). Anyway I wonder if you could help me. The lower brick work of my house is spawlling in a few areas and I seriously need to repoint it. I`m kind of new to this kind of thing and as such am unsure what the sequence of operations is for such a job and what the mixes are etc. Could you please shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance

My guess is that the reason you found so much info on paving is that is what this site concentrates on. At least from site reading that I have done.

I believe retaining walls are included.

I assume you are looking for info on repointing house walls. Not my area of expertise so sorry i can't help on that one. There may well be others that could profer some advise.

and quite an educated guess that was totally unproductive but correct. Perhaps that is why it was posted under "site works" and not "paving" duh.
I assume you are looking for info on repointing house walls
another very accurate but unproductive assumption. Perhaps it was the line in my post
The lower brick work of my house is spawlling in a few areas and I seriously need to repoint it
that gave it away :)

Perhaps you could furnish me with the url of one of the sites that can
profer some advise
 on this matter instead of posting garbage ?

I have difficulty in persuading myself to offer help to anyone with such an attitude problem.

As Landscape Mann rightly said, this is Pavingexpert, not Wallexpert or Buildingexpert, that's why I don't give extensive coverage to walls. Nor do I cover plastering, carpentry, glazing, roofing or many other construction skills that are beyond my remit and expertise. Perhaps it was in the title of the website, " A Guide to Paving and Hard-Landscaping Methods and Materials in Britain and Ireland" that gave it away!

"Site Works" refers to general groundworks, not to all the various trades and skills used on construction sites.

So, pack up your attitude and take it to some other website to see if they have any advice for a surly ingrate. LM only tried to help - there was absolutely no need to respond in the way you did.
