Hello Tony

Iâ€™m after a bit of advise if possible please, I am just about to extend my patio, the extended patio size will be 10m2 which is 4.05m wide and 1.8m long, I really want the patio to fall away from the house, however the issue I have is our lawn slopes towards the house from the other direction.

I guess my question is do you think if I dug a trench at the end of the patio and filled it with aggregates etc whether this would be enough to drain the water.

Apologies for being late to this - had all sorts of health issues with angina during the heatwave and now an arthritic knee that is driving me mad with pain.

If you have reasonably well-draining ground, you could use a simple infiltration trench, as shown here.....

That's what I've got on my 50m2 patio. You need to remove the pebbles every other year and clean them but it works for me.
