Hi guys,
I am after a bit of advice regarding installing a small french drain.
I eventually laid my patio and path ways in October but the water is pooling when we have heavy rain in the corner of the lawn, the lowest part. See enclosed pics.
What I proposing to do is connect a flexible 80mm land drain into the existing storm drain as per pic. I know ideally it should have a catch pit but as it is such a small length of drain is it required or will I get away without one. Can you buy preformed catch pits ?
Also how is best to T an 80mm land drain into 110mm plastic? My plan is to put a T joint into the existing drain and dig a 300mm trench to where the water is holding. Line the trench with terram, place the 80mm land drain in the trench and fill and fill with 10/20mm clean stone. Then cover over with 4inch of soil and put into lawn.
Does this sound feasible and the best solution?
Advice gratefully recieved.
Cheers
Jon
