hi this is my first post here, i am after some advice about a down pipe and soak away, the down and guttering was replaced by the local authority a few years ago, the old down pipe was sealed to the soak away inlet with mortar, 18mths later (the property has been empty for 24months) when doing some work on the property i noticed damp on certain mainly inner walls, i have told it was more than likely the down pipe being fitted correctly as when it was fitted it was more or less aimed at the soak away inlet, they have sent contractors round to repair where the pipe goes and fit a new hopper, i have included some pictures if you could offer any advice it be greatly appreciated. thanks.

It is more than likely the old guttering that was the problem, or it could be leaking on that abortion of a render at bottom of brickwork. I like to see a easy bend shoe on that downpipe so it rund away from the wall. And it is a gully not a soakaway.
