Ground water in sewage system

Hi,
I'm new here and I'm hoping someone can help. Our waste water drains flow into a sewage plant that serves 4 houses. These drains are maintained by a housing association and we pay a service charge to them. We have discovered that groundwater is entering these drains having left a hosepipe running on the surface and within half an hour or so the amount of water flowing in the drain matches what is coming out of the hosepipe. We've lived in the property 20+ years and have watched the front path (which is over the drain) subside. To us this is a fault that should be rectified, soil must be entering the system as well as the water for the path to subside. It is not just our property that is effected, all four have the same problem.

Please can anyone give us some advice on building regs and or legal responsibilities that will help us in our quest to get the housing association to take responsibility for their system?

you need a drainage contractor on site to give you this advice

your sewer pipes may need to be lined
