Hi,

I am about to start my patio and am just getting all the materials together. I need a few recessed man hole covers. The existing are round hepworth ones and the internal diameter of the chamber is 480mm. I have seen these on ebay item no 271221502205( not sure how to post link). Will a 450mm one be ok or am I better off with a 600x600 or 600x450? Also has anyone got any experience of this supplier/product or can recommend an alternative supplier.

Many thanks in advance

Jon

That would be fine but my preference would be for an Aco or Clark Drain cover. These have a plastic housing and galvanised tray with inbuilt lifting keys Clark Drain.Should be available for a similar price from your local builders merchant.

The housing is a square to round fitting and has a short tube to fit inside the chamber. Make a concrete pad around the chamber to bed the housing on. I usually place the concrete to an approximate level and then fine tune with a mortar bed when the paving is laid around the chamber.
