Hi

I have had an old block driveway removed that was higher than the slate dpc by a couple of courses of bricks

The brickwork below the dpc has been ground out ready to refill.

Its a 1890's victorian clay brick house

A two part question really....

What kind of mortar should be used to point?
and
The builder has ground out some of the slate dpc - should that be mortared back in - left or what!

Regards

Julian

3:1 sand:cement below DPC
best to leave the slate DPC exposed really but most do not like that look of that

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply

The slate has been damaged/part removed by the grinding out process- so its 10/15mm recessed - for want of a better description. There is no need to fill this with anything?
