I'm looking to find 4-5 old square topped salt glazed gullies for a restoration project . Other than ebay does anyone know of a source? Would collect 40 miles from Ascot

jeez ken cat
i must have chucked over 100 away in the last 5 years
I use to keep them to plant flowers in but the missus got the hump
as they are underground why does it matter?
its only the grill that is seen, maybe you could get modern ones with cast iron grills?

Say about £10, I dont mind cleaning off some concrete. If they have a serviceable CI grate maybe a bit more. I'm sure you think me mad but they will suit the job I'm doing.

I found this site by doing a search at google for "reclamation yards"
http://www.bensreckyard.co.uk/Square-drain-gully
only way I'm afraid, I have 2 but I now keep them in case any are damaged when we dig off the driveway
surprising how many look OK until you remove the surrounding earth and they have been cracked by the frost
good luck

Shame! I smashed one up last week after carefully removing it from a job - we'd never use the thing.

Thanks for the offers and suggestion where to find, I cant afford the time to travel too far to collect. Anyone more local to Ascot?

I think most reclamation yards sell them as `Victorian Herb Pots`, our lads use to get £10 a pop for them at out local yard but it cost us more in labour as they gently excavated and removed them
I will see what we have in the yard
