I live on a steepish hill and my neighbours and I are looking at having our drive ways block paved. Due to the lay of the land if no drain is fitted between my own drive and my neighbours all water that will land on my drive will end up running straight across their drive to a flower bed on the other side.
The area of each drive will be about 45m2 and the length of drive along the boundary will be about 5m. Can I use a drain such as this one:

or does it have to be a storm crate type arrangement which would have to be under the new driveway?
If I can use the filter drain how would I size it? Would it be the same formula as shown here: http://www.pavingexpert.com/drain13.htm which gives me a volume of 0.75m3. Or due to the fact that a filter drain has a larger surface area exposed to the ground can this be trimmed down slightly?
