i'm going to have to install suitable drainage for 12m2 of sandstone patio, good news is it nice free draining soil/ground so a soakaway is a good option. trouble is i'm only 3m from the house and can slope it so i'm either next to boundary or 2.5m away.

if it wasn't for the fact that the lawn is higher than the patio, the water would be running straight on to the lawn, rather than concentrated into one spot.

therefore as it is only 1 crate is required would it be acceptable to break the 5m rule?

the ground is definitely good enough for a soakaway, when i did the test for the proper one i built in the right place, i couldn't fill it up with the hose because it was draining to quick, my concern on this one is that it to close to the house and the patio. however, i really don't want to carve across my newish lawn to connect to the other one.
