Folks,

I have to run the downpipe of some gutterring to a soakaway...
As a result of a completely seperate minor repair project I have an approximately 2 meter of black soil pipe to hand...

Is there any reason why I shouldn't use this as part of the run, joined to some 4" brown drainage? (Which I already have)

(I haven't actually measured, but I'm assuming they are the same nominal diameter, so the fittings will fit!)

If I can use it I don't have to buy any more pipe!

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Simsy

Yes
Have a read here

OK to bury black pipe
Do not use underground brown pipe above ground where it is exposed to the sun.

Many Thanks...

I had done a search... obviously used wrong terms!
I knew about the brown and UV... didn't know if there was a problem with black underground.

Thanks.

No problem. The only reason the search didn't take me long was that I knew I had asked exactly the same question.

black and grey are loads more money ,thats why they are rarely used underground
however if it is spare then it is fine to use
