hi all i am about to lay a patio to the rear of a house where the back garden is split level, with the turfed area being approx 2ft higher than the proposed patio site with a retaining wall. As the garden is sloping down to the house, to get a fall away from the house would be rather difficult!
Can this problem be overcome by installing aco drain against house and still comply with regs????
Have also been told that soakaway should be dug under patio although there is an existing soakaway approx 5mx3m under the lawn, behind retaining wall on the left side of the garden!

Which regulations?
Do you mean the SUDS regulations? or the best practice of not going higher than 150mm below DPC?

You can get around either but you haven't given enough information. A plan of the area showing all the different measurements and levels along with some photos would help.
