Hello all

Just wondering is there any clear guidance on when to use either a preformed branch channel or a slipper, in storm or foul drainage.

The drainage system I am looking at will be adopted. I have discussed with Thames water and they are a bit vague. I am relying on a drainage subcontractor who I have faith in but I feel a bit safer if I have written guidance (or even well established rules of thumb). I have checked sewers for adoption 7 and did not find any help.

on a new manhole i try to use the preformed, especially on foul drainage. If i'm adding to a manhole i would use a slipper. It also depends on what is available on site, i've had to cut half pipes myself out of bends. you need to make sure you have it all sealed so no water can escape, or for that matter get in. Correct concrete mix is essential to seal benching. No dry lean mix!!!

Thames Water will expect the SC to fully understand and interpret the SFA bible....

When the inspector looks down into the MH and it all looks right, he'll be happy. That's my experience of South West Water anyway.
