Please can anybody advise on the factors to take into consideration when wanting to dig new drainage from extension to manhole in neighbour's drive? (Obviously we need to get their permission)

Current drains: several houses' drain along back of properties. We are penultimate, neighbour is final link. Drainage then goes out to road under their garage and via a pit in their drive.

We wish to dig a new drain a few feet out to new pit in our garden and then across boundary to their pit in drive.

Anybody got experience in this?

well it can be done but you will need their permission in writing,and also you will potentially have to pay them a fee for inconvenience
and also promise to reinstate the drive as is
last time we had this option the client had to give his neighbour a grand and also use a party wall surveyor to draw up an agreement ( they didnt get on obviously)
other alternative is to run to the back of your own house,but i dont know how hard this is

thanks. We want to maintain friendly relations! I'll be consulting a suitable solicitor for a letter of agreement and the local council for building control regs.
