Hi - Please for give my ignorance as I am a novice to the building game, but I am baffled ??? as to how I get around the following situation.

Basically, I would like to install Bi-Folding doors, but my patio is 2-3 brick levels below the DPC. I would like to raise my patio so that I would be able to walk straight out of the dining room onto the patio with the Bi-Fold doors having a low threshold. I have seen this on many of the gallery pictures on Bi-Fold company websites, and we also went to a party at a house that had the same setup. But, reading through some of the threads in this forum, I was under the impression that any drainage system has to be installed below the DPC, but i am wondering how do people get around this so that the floors run flush, without compromising the DPC.

The house we went to for the party seemed to have a Linear drainage system the looked like it ran up to their Bi-Fold door threshold? is this possible?

I really appreciate the help on this as I would like to know if it is at all possible when there is a DPC involved?

Thanks,

Regards,

Jon.

we did it on this job recently
we knew it was coming so we installed 2 dpcs and also a tray from the outer dpc running up 225mm higher on the inside leaf of block work
we used the hepworth threshold drains which were an absolute nightmare to install
highly not recommended

my personal preference is for an aco type linear drain

LLL i am trying to do this with mine too, with a 4.6m opening and possible UFH it's got to be a level entrance really hasn't it? I just didn't want a 5" grate if I could help it (bearing in mind Mrs JB's fondness for stilettos.....

I also did one a few months ago with a flush threshold, however our client was happy with an aco type drain across in front of the doors.
