Water is coming into the garage through the bottom of the wall, only when it rains and not very much just a puddle on the floor. The soil has got clay in it and there is a farmers field near the garage. My question is can i use an attenuation cell with a long pipe on it to collect the water before it goes in the garage and redirect it passed the garage into a drain.

Or is i best to fit a perferated pipe along the side of the garage to collect the water.

The garage wall is about 5m long and i can dig down outside no problem. Sorry this isn't a paving drainage question but i'm sure you lot will know the answer.

Thanks

See the main site on French/ field drain and lay one of those to catch the water before it reaches garage. As has been said in heavy driving rain single skin Walls will allow water through

Length of land drain along wet wall connect up to existing top water drain, trench 1ft square, then back fill with gravel.

You don't want to be putting a perforated pipe, shingle, or any thing that will drain to your house wall. Water needs to be directed away from the house wall, foundations etc. Are you planning on putting an hardstanding in, ie; footpath? Any photo's?

Thanks for all the messages. Its a detached garage nowhere near the house so i have just fitted a perforated pipe full length of the wall which someone suggested wrapped in geo and inside a good pile of gravel. Couldn't put it as deep as i wanted due to outlet height but fingers crossed should work.

Will find out as soon as it rains again

let you know the out come.

By the way i need a 6m pipe which was over £30 with holes in which i couldn't afford so got some 2ins pipe which was only £5 for 6m and drilled the holes myself. BARGIN ( IF IT WORKS )

Cheers everybody :D
