Hi all.

just been given a quote for some linear driveway drains to be fitted on my block paving.

i have been told i need about 14 meters to go down the full legnth on the house
and a couple of section in the corner of the drive where it also puddles

he has quoted about £250 for materials.

but said it would be around 500 to fit it.

also my drive has sunk in places so he will be raising it where its needed and then re liad.

providing that when he takes up the parts he needs to there isnt a concrete path underneath as that then would be additional cost to obviously go through it

does this seem resonable?

yeah alcudia was hot and full of germans.........

so back on topic then is 700ish, the going rate for 14m of channel drains, with the metal grill to be installed and hooked up to the soakaway, i apparently have...

involved removing linear bricks nearthe house, cutting through bricks at angles.

raising any sunken area's by re packing with sand i think he said and re laying them

this is the rason for the drains.

first bit of rain and it puddles like a bi***

had the drains installed.....
found a few problems doing so, the driveway has been laid on top of an original concrete path and drive, hence it being so high on the dpc.

lukily we had the required 7inch for the drains he bought to fit, even if we ended up having to cut the drain pots to hook them up as the pipe work is all buried in concrete, and would have been too big of a job to chop off, relay or chiel out by hand

The last pic of the 90 degree channel it's running up hill into the downspout isn,t judging by the brickwork?

very slightly.:( :( :(

however it still functions, fine.

i have stood there with a hose to double check it.

what happened is the drive has been laid sh**ly in the first place.

the plan was to not have to raise the drive any higher than it was, but get drains in that worked
