saw the new aco system that has an L section on top of the linear drain which leaves a 15mm gap for the water to pass in to the drain and allowing you to block pave over the drain itself. hard to explain but if anyone can find and post a picture... as i see it once the system is down theres no way to maintain the drain, any thoughts?

They're called brick slots most manufacturers do them. I'm not a fan for domestic applications because of the difficulty in clearing silt etc from them. Best for commercial applications where you can use a very deep runoff channel or for flags where you're not using sand as a dressing. Can't think of any neat way of finishing them that gives you quick access without having to lift whole line of paving that covers it.
