We've had the bright idea of taking up some of the crazy paving that covers our entire back garden to make a small lawn. The paving slabs, concrete and stones beneath are just over a foot deep and having broken it all up, we're now shovelling it all into a skip. We are wondering whether we should leave a single layer of stones at the bottom to help with drainage (and also so we wouldn't have to buy quite as much top-soil). If anyone has any advice, we'd really appreciate it!
Many thanks,
back to the shovelling!
