My elderly mother has a concrete drive and hard area which is lethally slippery. Its quite weathered but sound. We power wash it all the time to remove algae, but I'm worried she might fall (as I did) 
Can we put some sort of coating on it? What would we use and how do you get it / put it on (i.e. is it a job for the professionals?). How much does it cost? I have seen some resin / gravel type systems online. Would really appreciate some expert opinion. Thanks v much

Try ronacrete.co.uk. They do resin bound gravel, which you can apply(or get someone to apply) to the concrete surface. should be less slippery, and i am pricing it for a church path at the moment

An alternative would be to use a standard acrylic sealant for concrete and scatter RhinoGrit over the freshly coated surface. This is a specific type of hard, angular, fine sand that is all but invisible once applied, and works in a manner similar to sandpaper, except it is not as obvious. Costs pennies per square metre for the RhoinoGrit, while the sealant might cost 2-4 quid per m², depending on concrete porosity and brand.

Thanks, that might be the best answer then. Ronacrete haven't replied to my price query yet and this method would allow us to treat the main walkway of the drive and yard without looking much different to the rest. The concrete has weathered quite nicely to a rustic colour and this method would retain that look.
Would my local builders' merchants be able to source the Rhinogrit? I must say, the boys in there are really helpful (thanks Teifi Valley Builders) and I would prefer to go there than use the big stores.
