hi, new extension buildt and we want to connect to the existing rain water drain that takes the water away from our property.
planning to use a rodable gulley to take the water from the downpipe. then use a short run of pipe (approx 1metre) to connect into the existing rw drain.
Would you also use a p trap or similar between the gulley and the drain to catch any silt.
the gulley is sold by wickes and catches silt / leaves in the bottom.

Only need to use a P trap if the intended m/h connection is part of a combined foul/stormwater system. If it is just a stormwater m/hole then no trap is required.

Aslong as it is a stormwater pipe, then my initial statement still stands.

those pesky leaves and other detritus go down the pipe and block them up otherwise
