hello after advice i am building a dog run in back yard and need to put soak away in (no drain at back of house) what type of soak away do i need and is there anything on the market that i can use where i dont have to seperate the dog waste many thanks

I would guess that a soakaway approx 1m3 would suffice. Best bet owuld be to use aquacells inside a geotextile lining. Either catch the water with a linear channel or a gully and both need a silt trap. Dog waste should not be allowed to enter the system so you need to pick it up. More advice on soakaways and drainage are on the mainsite.

Take a visit to any of your local dog breeders - I'm sure they'll show you how they deal with all this.

I was talking to a dog handler and they recommend high density plastic flooring over the top of gravel. Gravel at the end run to be at least 6inches deep. Solids to be scooped up and urine can be hosed down. concrete no good because will hold the smell of urine. hope this helps.
