Im looking for a rough price for installing a Inspection chamber.
Im in North Yorkshire "Harrogate"
The chamber will have a minimum of three inlets/outlets. It is tobe installed to a depth of 1.5M. And will be placed where there is currently a T peice where the presant pipes are.
Have i explained this clearly enough.

is the hole dug?
has the hole to be backfilled afterwards?
is there an IC cover to install?
is it supply and fit,or just fit?

so i will add to this
access? mini digger and dumper/tracked barrow get in? or hand dig
ground: are you in heavy clay, sand or rock? all effects the price. at 1.5 metres i have to protected the trench before i can put a man in it. more cost,
existing drainage: is it plastic or salt glaze clay
what lid will you require" pedestrian, double sealed, vehicular, heavy vehicular
is it near a footing will it have to be concreted in to prevent the footing tipping into the trench etc.

Allow 3-400 quid, Darren, as a very rough guide. All the factors mentioned by Giles and LLL will push it closer to 400 quid but if it's a doddle-of-a-job, it could be as little as 200 quid

Thanks for the answers, Its soft soil and there is access, you can get anything up to 1.2M through.
£400 sound perfect figure as i have been quoted £720. So I guess prices up here are quite high.
Ill get a few quotes and post the results here.

Think i would be nearer the £720 mark myself.
Check out what you can get a polyproylene chamber for first !, if you can sneak an extra section or two on a 450mm diameter chamber (meant for depths of 1200mm only) you will be looking at £100/150 + band seal adaptors, pipe, bends, stone etc....
Tipping £30/40, plant and labour 1 bloody good man a day, more like two bods for the day all adds up.

£720 sounds more like it to me
1.5 m3 of spoil to excavate and remove
2 clay to plastic adaptors
concrete for base
IC base and rings etc
IC cover
2 tonne of 10 mm shingle
re-instate existing surface
and 2 blokes for a long day
i have done these type of jobs and sod's law says if you price it tight you will find a gas main right over where the IC is supposed to go (or water or leccy)
get 3 quotes darren and see what they come in at

Ive had three quotes now of £895, £720 and £400.
The 895 was to build the chamber in two skins of engineering bricks, cap off the old chamber and fill with dirt from the new chamber.
The 720 was to install a plastic chamber, dont know anything about the dirt or capping of the old hole.
Im going with the £400, its from a ground worker been established since 96 seems to Know what he is talking about. Basically he is going to use the concrete rings from the old chamber. cap off the old chamber and fill with dirt from the new hole. He has a mini digger.
Thats the bit that worries me when he lifts the old rings out im sure he will disturbed the base and cause more problems a few years on.

Re-using the rings makes sense if they are not jointed and can be removed in one piece.
Surely they will have to disturb the base in order to pipe through the old chamber or are they leaving the base ring in and capping that off ?.
There are always work-arounds if it doesnt have to be done to spec, but you do get what you pay for
