One more question

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Just one more question, as leaves are now falling all over sub base and are wet, should these be removed before laying the gravel or just leave them to rot under the stones? Thanks

Leave them, they'll be fine.

The only time I've seen problems caused by leaves is when they've been allowed to remain between surface course and substrate, once with bitmac and more than once with resin-bonded. The presence of the leaves prevents the surface course bonding to whatever is underneath, be it binder course or concrete, and then once the traffic starts pounding over it, the un-bonded patch of paving comes loose.
