Hi,
I am looking for Geo Textile fabric to line the trench for a land drain to prevent silt build up and weed penetration
Is Mypex which is a Woven polypropylene 105gms/m2, Permeability: 15ltr/m2/sec suitable for this application?
Alternative suggestions also welcome.

is that the mypex that is used on glasshouse floors under the potted seedlings

Mypex is a landscape fabric, used under such rough-n-tough materials such as bark mulch and, as MSH says, plant pots. Mypex, Plantex and their ilk are horticultural. It is NOT a construction geo-textile.
What you need is summat like Terram BuildA, LoTrak, TDP115 or simliar.

MSH & Tony, Thanks for the responses.
I am going to hunt builders providers tomorrow to get the right stuff. So far they have told me that they do not know anyone who bothers with a membrane. One did tell me that Mypex is the stuff to use. This is for my own garden and I do not want it silted or blocked with roots.
I would appreciate the part numbers or the exact description so that I can ask for the right stuff and not passed off with any old rubbish.
I am writing from Ireland and would love to find stockists.

Whereabouts in Ireland, Peter? Chadwicks should stock Terram and/or the LoTrak.
The claim that the BP doesn't know of anyone using a geo-textile with land drains is an indictment of their marketing and of their trade customers. Use of geo-textiles for land drains is now widely accepted as standard practice.

Jp Corry usually keep a stock of various geotextiles and grids. They're an NI company but have bought out quite a few branches down south although some are still trading under the previous company name. A quick web search for corrys and you'll find all the branches. Also try McNaughton Blair and Lowdens an if you're near Wicklow I know a good place in Brae I don't know it's name but could give directions. Good luck.
