I have looked at a site where the foul and storm all run together and run to a "waste treatment system" instead of a septic tank. The client has been told that they have to be on a sepertate system and the storm has to go into a seperate soakaway. Is this correct and also if so would it be possible to leave the acos that drain the car park area in the foul system or would they too be classed as storm and have to go into the system for the gulleys??

storm and foul need to be complete seperate pipe lines
the treatment plant does not need storm water going into it as you are paying to treat clean water and pump it away,also it will not allow the foul to be fully treated before discharge,on a rainy day it will over load the system
treatment plants are designed for people per house,and do not allow for rainwater
the acos need to go it the storm system,if its a large carpark shop etc, it will need a petrol interceptor before disharge to soakaway but a standard house drive its not needed

It is for a barn conversion that is now 3 houses and the aco's take the runoff off the old courtyard area.

The two systems can run to the same outfall but as mentioned the storm water should not pass through the tank.
If the final outfall is a brook, river, culvert etc.....we run the storm water through to the sample chamber on the outlet of the treatment plant to water down any nasties that may get through the treatment process after a few years of use.

I just like to check thats all. :p In your opinions do you think a petrol interceptor needs to be installed aswell?? As it is a private area for 3 private properties can it be classed as a standard house drive??

No, no need for an interceptor.
We've done commercial jobs with just one road gulley in the lowest corner, piped straight into the SUDS system. Parking spaces for 8 cars.
