Hi,

The back of our garden which is lower down than the rest of the garden tends to flood with heavy rain. The soil is clay so a soakaway is not possible. We have a combined water system (foul and rainwater from gutters) and we wish to install a land drain to remove water from the garden.

Can I connect to the landdrain into the main 110mm outlet pipe from the AJ via a the back entry of a trapped gully? There will be a rodding eye between the outlet of the gully and the 110mm pipe from the AJ.

Will the gully catch all the silt or do I need another mechanisim?

We are concerned that the garden may dry out during the summer on account of the improved drainage, we propose to fit a bung in the backentry of the gully to shut off the drainage and keep the garden watered. Will this work?

Thank you,

Peter Vincent
