Hello,is it possible someone could offer some advice? I have a bit of a drainage conundrum. Basically the back of my garden is as the diagram below. Water keeps collecting in the flooded area. I have a clay ground so cannot use a soakaway. I think I have to connect to a drain. I would like to connect to the surface water drain (SD) however it would be exceedingly difficult to lay the drainage around the conservatory and would involve digging a lot of hardcore and concrete to get access. It would be almost impossible. Basically what I want to know is I am allowed to connect to one of the two foul drains (FD) if I use a trap or is it against regulations ?

It's not against regulations but it would be considered "undesirable".

Would it not be possible to put a linear channel along the retainer wall, and then pipe that into the SW down the side of the conservatory?

The linear channel saves a lot of excavation and reduces the amount of underground pipe required. It may even be possible to install such a channel 'round the corner' to the point where it is adjacent to the SW inlet.

Linear drain it is then , I think I'll try and connect the land drain behind the wall to it aswell !! cheers Tony. Where would be without the internet ! :)

I plan to put decking in the flooded area, is there any specific material I should use for the ground to encourage water to flow towards the linear drain ? Also if I use a gravel path around the conservatory is it feasible to lay the gravel on top of it if necessary with a landscape fabric in between ?
