Problem with septic tank - Finding a lost pipe

Currently undertaking a large domestic garden design and build scheme. One of the extras the customer added on during the works was the replacement of a failing inspection chamber and pipe work up to the septic tank. Replaced these no problem but when we exposed the neck of the septic tank the vertical equal T-junction was damaged, so I set about replacing it. On refitting the 110mm vertical pipe emerging from the shoulder of the tank, it slid down into the tank. Looking inside the tank the pipe has slid down out of sight inside and below a cone structure.

Q What will the effect be on the operation of the tank with this pipe not connected inside (equal T is now connected to the tank but not the pipe inside)

Q How would I go about reconnecting this pipe or is it a job for a specialists i.e. some one who doesn’t mind getting covered up to there neck in shit

ugh. not nice. You could get the tank emptied and retrieve the damaged pipe section perhaps? How was it secured before? Was it clay , plastic or metal? I dont think it will actually affect the septic tank operation, but it might caused problems later when the tank fills up:(

Its a GRP tank and the 110mm upvc pipe passed through a rubber seal straight from the bottom of the 90 bend

refibre glass the pipe using cheap car repair kit . they are a bastard but sometimes a cheap bodge is the best option imho:D
