Hi,

I'm installing a lawn drainage system using the perforated pipe in a trench. Because of our situation we have no alternative but to connect this land drain into the household soil system. I don't want to clog this up with silt, etc so I was considering putting in some IC/Silt trap between the end of the lawn-drain pipe and the connection into the soil/waste pipe.

My plan was to insert a large IC over a temporary soak away tank, so that the water first drops into the tank which fills up and then when the water reaches the right height it pours through into the pipe that connects to the waste system.

Is that right, in theory? What kit do I need, and is there a silt trap/IC on the market that is recommended?

Thanks in advanace for any advice.

Dan

Hi Dan, If you're still needing advice have a look on the drainage pages. You may have a problem if you connect surface water into a foul sewer, fall foul of the authorities!, anyway best of luck.
