Hi
I am just starting my patio in my back garden and an getting conflicting advice from different people. Was hoping to get an expert 'final' opinion!
The patio will be around 55msq so quite a substantial area. My original plan was to fall away from the house and simply drain into flower beds / lawn at the far edge of the patio.
Ive since been told I should really allow for some sort of drainaway at this edge or alternatively slope towards the house and run a drainaway along the house into existing drains.
Is this really necessary? Or would i get away with just having the water run off onto the beds / lawn?
Any advice you could provided would be much appreciated.
Cheers

eh?
of course you can run it into your lawns and beds
normally you only need a drain when the water cannot get away
dont overcomplicate things

Totally agree with LLL - we construct driveways (much bigger areas) that drain off into gardens/flowerbeds with no ill effects.

Keep it simple! :)
