How can you determine the direction of flow in a correctly laid drain or sewer simply from a visual inspection?
This was a question in a BPCA specimen exam paper, and I can't find the answer to it anywhere

thats about it really 1 end lower than the other,
or if there are inlets into the IC then the fall will be away from them

As LLL says branch lines should enter at an angle and with the flow of the main line.

Older clay systems (not all) would normally have a collar leaving the chamber and a spigot entering.

Run a level across the frame and dip the invert

Interceptor traps should be on the outlet of a chamber and failing that take a pee, and see which way it flows :D

You may get extra points for that one !
