How deep? - Soakaway for patio

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hello there
I have a water problem on my patio and have istalled drainage channels.
i now need to dig the soakaways, how deep should i go.
the patio is about 50m2.

depends on your ground mate
if its heavy clay or if its sand or chalk etc etc

The calculation for determining the size and depth of a soakaway is given on the main website. Depth and size is a factor of area to be drained and ground permeability. There is no pre-set size/depth.
