Next doors drains

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

recently my neighbours have had a linear drain installed across the front of there garage,
witch is blocked of at one end, but the end that is on the boundary with my property has been dug under the fence and left open falling to my side so every time they wash the cars, swill dog piss away or it rains it floods my yard.
now my neighbour is not very approachable at the best of times so should i approach him about it or just block it off.

The only way to sort it is to approach him.

He isn't going to ask you if you cower in a corner whilst he washes dog piss into your yard...

Just be tough and firm. No need to be frightened of him,however hard he appears...

they are not allowed to cause their surface water to be directed to your property... think this has been brought up before.. broach subject with them, if they dont play ball then seek legal advice ???
general builder, maintenance engineer, gas and plumbing installations, extensions etc

Agreed - as the other end is blocked off and doesn't run to a drain - you need to approach him, otherwise it's time to get legal.

thank for the advise chaps,
i spoke to him last night about the drain and he was gobsmacked didnt have a clue about it but he cannot get hold of the so called builders as there caravan has moved of the local school feild,so i will do it my self to save time and to stop my patio floating away...
