Hello. I'm in the process of a new build, and am shortly going to attack the driveway. When I create the level threshold for disabled access to the main door, is it necessary and/or normal for a proprietry threshold drain to be fitted or can a small gap just be left between the sill of the door frame and the paving? If it makes any difference, the door frame is a specific disabled entrance one where the weatherproofing detail of the sill is supposed to be more effective at preventing wind driven rain from creeping under the door. Many thanks.

A threshold drain is a better construction, but isn't always necessary. Your BCO should provide specific guidance for your project.
