Moved into a new home in November, and had lots and lots of problems, most of them being sorted by the builder. Barratts have after a lot of moaning fitted a land drain into the gardens spanning 5 houses. 3 from one side of the top water drain and two from the other side. But these seem to be not working. Right outside the back of the house we have a garden which is around 12 meteres in length X 6 meteres in width with a footpath to one side and a garage. the rest is turfed and is litterally under water most of the time. The soil Barratts filled in with is around 3 inches in depth and then you are on to stone, which they used to backfill the property.
The land drain has been placed around 2/3 metres from the back of the house and around 12 inches deep, then filled in with the same sort of stone they use for roads and they used to backfill the garden. I have asked that they look into why the water does not subside and they just fob me off with, it takes time for it to work, surely it should work straight away if its all connected up. Any advice would be appreciated
