Hi,
I am planning a diy conservatory from Wickes. I know people who can assist with foundations etc. but I'm lost with drains. I have a kitchen waste (cast iron) which is external and runs into an open drain cover below kitchen window. The conservatory will be over this, so I need some help with how this can be built in / boxed in but obviously not with open drain. Main pipe is also under conservatory but should be a straight run right through from one side to another (except the kitchen pipe joining.
All help more than welcome.

Thank you,
Mark

firstly mark you need to check with your water board that the drain is NOT a public drain
if it is you have got all sorts of paperwork and a fee to pay and they may refuse you permission to build over it( i know because this happened to us recently)
secondly drains are not really a DIY kinda job but you can find some info here
its worth getting some expert advice at least because your conservatory doesnt need to smell of sewers
hope this helps ya
regards LLL :)

Can only agree with LLL on this one - think - if you build your conservatory over the drain then it collapes/blocks 2 years down the line and the water board get involved - think of the heartache! :(
