I have a old concrete path right next to my house and am considering covering it with large (20mm) gravel or slate chippings to hide the unsightly and damaged concrete. The area is completly enclosed, i.e. surrounded by the house, the party (brick) wall and ascending concrete steps at either end, but there are 2 drains and the area has never suffered from flooding. There is also a 150mm damp-proof course against the house. Could laying the gravel introduce damp/flooding problems?

The short answer is no, it shouldn't. However, gravel over concrete is generally considered bad practice as it can represent a slip hazard.
