Linear drain connection - How to connect to existing manhole

I am trying to connect a trapped linear drain to the existing combined system. To make things easier i was hoping to be able to tap into the side of the existing preformed concrete manhole so i don't have to go to the depth of the base of the manhole and connect to the existing clayware (at a guess this is nearly 5 ft below GL). The distance from the trap to the manhole is only around 1.5m so it doesn't give me much room to play with in terms of making a branched connection to the existing pipework. Is this a big no no or OK? any guidance or alternatives that don't require shed loads of digging would be much appreciated.

Depends if you are going through building control or not. on new build it is always preferred that you enter the flow of the system at invert level, however the type of connection you are talking about for a storm water connection is fine onto an existing system.
Be careful how you break through the existing concrete sectional manhole, if they are domestic rings (24`x 18`) they have no reinforcing and will break up so best use a core drill for a tidy job.

Thanks for the quick reply!! It is just for drainage of a smallish patio (27sq m) as i got a mate who does Drain camera work and it was his suggestion to tap in from the side of the IC. It is preformed concrete sections and he offered to use a wizzer to cut a small square to pass the pipe into and then make good with mortar to seal he also suggested to pass the inlet into the chamber by a few inches to allow clear passage. I wasn't going to bother with BC is this advisable? sorry but new to this and don't know all ins and outs. Many thanks
