Hi, firstly thanks for the great site with such invaluable info.

My problem is that I have a waterlogged garden that needs some kind of drainage. I realise, thanks to this site, that a soakaway is not an option as we have a very clay soil. My only other option is to create an outlet into a gully beside the back door of the house. Can anyone advise how I should make the connection from the perforated plastic drainage pipe into the gully.

I have done a search on the site (including forums) but didn't see any reference to this, so apologies if I have missed it.

Easiest option is to install a small access chamber (AC) or even an Inspection Chamber (IC) on the existing drainage line and then use one of the junctions to connect the land drain pipe.

Connecting to a pre-existing gully is fraught with difficulty, most notably because the level of the gully is likely to be considerably above that of the land drain, so you need aconnection point that will enable fall from the LD to the existing SW system.
