hi there,

can anyone help me find a permeable paving system suitable for a domestic driveway. i realise i could use gravel, but the driveway has quite a slope and think most of the gravel would eventually end up at the bottom of the drive, also i think i would prefer something more permenant.
i was thinking of using sets but not cementing them in therefore allowing surface water to drain freely, but i'm not sure if this is suitable? maybe there would be dips and lumps appearing everywhere??!
ideally if there was something environmentally friendly we could use as well, that would be a real bonus, i'm not really intersted in using concrete!

Formpave have a wide range of permeable systems, all of them based around block paving. If you wanted to explore the gravel option a little further, the products you need to consider are the cell matrices but be aware that they work best on shallow gradients, anything up to around 1 in 8.

There are also permeable macadams, but I've not yet seen a driveway installation for these, which is probably ue to unfamiliarity amongst driveway contractors rather than any technical reason.

And there are permable resin-bound systems, if you like the gravelly look and have deep pockets.
