I am thinking of having my drive relaid. We have just had a quote for pic from a company called 'Drives by Design' www.dbdgroup.co.uk in Bury, Manchester. The guy who came out was impressive and seemed to know his stuff. Before committing to this company I wondered if
a) Anybody had any knowledge of their track record.
b) I was told that my drive was not suitable for block paving as it has a slope4 and the water would wash away the base layer.
DBD fit both pic and block paving so I don't think he had an axe to grind.
Anybody have any opinion on this advice?

The present drive is tarmac and was put down when the house was built 10 years ago.
Thanks in advance

Purely a comment about aesthetics - totally subjective - but does anyone else think PIC is 'orrible? I swear for every 2 or 3 I see that are sound the next one is either blotchy, misprinted with overlaps or plain cracked. Nothing against the contractors that do a proper job of the structure or the finish but a) there are a lot of cowboys in that game it seems and b) it's usually incongruous and plain ugly.
