Hi All

I am about to build a low retaining wall off 30-42 inches in height to retain a bank at the side of my proposed new drive. Wall will be 10m long and fall about 1m.

Should I lay a mole type drain behind the wall and connect this to new drains I'll be putting in for the new drive? If so, how do I get it from behind the wall to where it will connect? Through the wall foundations?

any alternatives?

Thanks

Mike

Mole type drain? Do you mean a perforated collector drain?

Ideally, you would outfall to a soakaway or local water course, but if connection to the SW system is your only option, then it's a simple matter of installing a 'tail' linking the collector drain to an AC or IC on the SW system via a pipe (perforated or solid) passing beneath the wall foundation.
