I live in a 1920's detached house. It has a large roof area and consequently a large run-off into a downpipe. Last week the drain blocked. Luckily, I had a set of drain rods and used a worm screw fitting to 'dig around' to no effect though some silt/mud was on the worm screw fitting when I pulled it up. I then used a plunger fitment and the blockage freed itself relatively slowly. The water looked very muddy though. What shocked me was that the plunger and rods went straight down about 4 to 5 foot with no obvious drain either side. So what am I dealing with here...any clues??? The drain disappears under concrete and this concrete extends to over 6 foot square. Last night it blocked up again....can anyone help or suggest who maybe able to help because the flood from the drain is running into the house!!!! Anyone...please... :(
....in need of help!

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the rods "went straight down about 4 to 5 foot with no obvious drain either side" - straight down into what??

If you're really concerned, then cctv inspection is the most likely option.
