HI
I hope you can help. I appreciate this is not a paving related question but the advice on your website looks very comprehensive.
I have a manhole at the bottom of my garden which connects the drain from my house to drainage from my neighbours and down to the main sewer.
My garden slopes and drops around 2 foot down to the level of the manhole. I want to level the garden and raise the level of the manhole cover around 18" in total.
I do not know where to start or who to contact. Looking at my water company website gave no help at all. CAn you get such a thing as a riser that can just slot on top?
You just need additional sections fitting to the chamber to elevate the level of the cover. It's a simple diy task, or one that can be undertaken by any decent groundworker, builder or drainage cntractor.
A civils merchant, such as Cooper Clarke, Burdens or UGS are a better source for manhole sections than the usual Effing Jewsons and Travis Bloody Perkins sorts of places.
