I am thinking of adding an extra cloakroom downstairs and have good access to the existing soil stack, which is made of cast iron. My only concern is how to get a 'T' piece fitting into the soil stack. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Buy a junction section at a local drainage centre. You'll need to cut into the existing soil stack, push the upper section up out of the way for a bit, and then slot in the new junction. You may need to cut off some of the original CI pipe to accommodate the new junction, which is always a bit of a gamble, but if you use a metal cutting blade on a decent nangle grinder, it shouldn't be too difficult.
