Hi,
I would appreciate any help/advice with my querry.
I am about to start a side extension to my bungalow - a new bedroom, plus the existing bathroom and kitchen to be extended.
The extension will be over the existing driveway which houses the i.c for the bathroom and kitchen.
My concern is how do I plan the new drains in , whilst continuing to use the existing drains? The existing i.c will be in the middle of the new build for the kitchen.I proposed to instal a new i.c 3 meters foreward to tie the new drains into the existing drain. But how do I complete the new floor when the existing drains are there ? , the existing toilet is to be used during the build .Also can I lower the existing i.c cover to below the proposed floor level ?, this will then be obsolete when the build is complete. The plans do not cover this in any detail.
Hope the above is clear -
thanks Dave.

I'd need to see plans before I could propose a working methodology that would guarantee continual connectivity of the drainage during the building work.

Usually, the new drainage would be installed prior to disconnection of the old.
